Education was the third area of intervention as SWWS team felt it necessary to empower poor. Besides striving to educate rural women, SWWS is operating 12 schools for Urban Working and Indigent Children in Mardan city. While on other hand SWWS worked for 100% literacy and established 86 communities based schools and hired 120 feeder teachers in different district of NWFP. Further for the revival adopted schools with the aim to provide better education facilities in far flung area of NWFP of Pakistan. Further two type of support is being provided through Public Sector Supported (PSS), under this arrangement; support for two kinds may be extended to an existing government facility: 1. provision of missing facilities of physical infrastructure and human resource, wherever required. 2. Abandoned government school that have become non functional can be adopted. SWWS is currently working on this pattern with PPAF for selected facilities. |
